Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee projects in the manufacturing and industrial mechanical engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of project execution, from planning and coordination to completion, ensuring efficient use of resources, compliance with technical standards, and alignment with customer expectations. Expertise in utilizing Procore and other project management tools is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Initiation:
- Utilize Procore and other project management software to manage all projects.
- Complete required training and obtain certifications for relevant project management tools.
- Analyze and comprehend project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Review project estimates, including expected timelines, workforce needs, and resource requirements.
- Develop a procurement plan for materials, equipment, and labor.
- Site and Facility Coordination:
- Conduct walkthroughs of manufacturing or industrial sites to coordinate with supervisors and engineers.
- Establish clear communication channels with site teams and ensure alignment on project goals.
- Host weekly project meetings with clear agendas, documenting outcomes and next steps in Procore.
- Address safety protocols, project progress, and resource planning during discussions.
- Project Execution and Monitoring:
- Create and update project schedules, including two-week look-aheads and detailed timelines.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders while maintaining comprehensive logs in Procore.
- Track material deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate receipt based on approved specifications.
- Verify daily progress reports from supervisors, ensuring alignment with timelines and budget goals.
- Oversee allocation of labor hours across multiple assignments for efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and manage AIA payment applications, ensuring timely submission and approval.
- Provide monthly financial forecasts to stakeholders, outlining project costs and progress.
- Ensure accuracy in invoicing and payment applications to meet customer and internal deadlines.
- Technical Oversight and Compliance:
- Confirm all change orders and additional work are approved before execution.
- Ensure site supervisors maintain accurate, up-to-date red-line drawings.
- Adhere to and enforce compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and customer specifications.
- Follow up all verbal instructions or field adjustments with written documentation for clarity and record-keeping.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to resolve project challenges.
- Document all project milestones, safety issues, and technical updates using Procore.
- Provide stakeholders with progress updates, including performance metrics and completion percentages.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management within manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering industries.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Procore or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications in project management, such as PMP or Procore certifications.
- Familiarity with manufacturing technologies, automation, and mechanical systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visit manufacturing or industrial sites, including walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
- Flexibility to travel for on-site inspections and client meetings as required.
Work Environment:
This role involves working in a combination of office settings and manufacturing/industrial environments. The Project Manager will work closely with engineers, supervisors, and technicians to ensure project success while adhering to deadlines and safety standards.
